Welcome to the Exeter CF Research page!
It is a hugely exciting time for CF Research, with many clinical trials and research projects going on. Various topics are being investigated including studies looking at quality of life and investigating new treatments, as well as comparing existing treatments.
The CF Trust have launched the Clinical Trials Accelerator Platform (often shortened to CTAP) to help increase participation and improve access to clinical trials for people with CF in the UK. Exeter has been awarded CTAP status for both adult and paediatric services meaning Exeter is part of a network leading CF Research in the UK.
As part of the Accelerator Platform, Exeter has appointed a full time CF Trials Coordinator Sophie Whiteley who facilitates trial set up and running at Exeter with the Research Nurses and Practitioners alongside your usual care team. If you have any questions about research or are interested in taking part in a study, please contact Sophie at s.whiteley1@nhs.net or 01392 406981
The CF Trust has many resources with information about taking part in research. What are clinical trials?
